Spectacular new colorful snowman platters
Is spectacular too modest of a description for these new prototype round snowman platters that Terry and Michele have been doing? These are awesome. Very unique and different from our traditional snoware colors. I will get some better photos up soon. Click the photos for larger images.
July 10th kiln opening photos
Lots of our snowman ceramic platters, plates, bowls, mini dippers, chip and dips and some of the supersize humongous snowman cups from our snoware collection in these kiln opening photos. Some of our new flourish line also.
Major overhaul to our online store
Hi everyone we are doing a major overhaul to the store. It’s going to be bigger and better and pretty with lots more items. Once I get it updated I’m going to put every studio piece available on all month with super great prices. I’m planning on having it finished by tomorrow sometime. Everyone is [...]
Furniture painting project
First step of the furniture painting project my mom and sister (aka tt and myc) are doing. Will soon be similar to the tea set under the table when finished.
Slip casting some oldies
Casting some of our older past mugs and pitchers. Two of my favorite pitchers, the bubba pitcher and a nice traditional medium size pitcher.
Drilling the ceramic hands
Only one had holes so I used a ceramic tile drill bit and it was super easy. Kinda weird and creepy but covered up several holes. Much better than filling the holes the boring way.
More slip casting greenware
Two more items that have been slip cast. At this point the pieces are called greenware . Greenware is is very fragile at this point. They will be cleaned and smoothed and painted then fired. We fire our first firing a 03 about 1960 to 1988 Fahrenheit. Then they will be glazed and fired for [...]
Wavy and mini cake pedestals
Here are two of the pedestals that were finally dry enough to remove from the molds they were sitting in after I attached them a couple days ago. Although they were cast on the 15th and put together on the 16th, they still have a lot of drying to do. The moist air and snow [...]
Slip casting ceramic molds
Got the slip casting table going again. It is very easy to neglect. Slip is a liquid type clay that we pump into ceramic molds. It gets dried out fairly quickly when I forget about it for more than 3 or 4 days. I think my camera may have got dusty or I have wrong [...]
